She was elected to the Collier County School Board 4 times from 2002-2016\, serving as chair three times. She has served on numerous local and community boards and committees since moving to Naples in 1997. \nAs a founding member of the Youth Leadership Collier\, she was honored by the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce as one of five “Volunteers of the Year” in 2006. She was named by Florida Weekly one of the “Power Women of 2014” for her professional and volunteer efforts in Collier County\, and one of Naples Illustrated 20 Leading Ladies in 2017. \nShe holds a B.A.\, M.A. in English and certification in school district administration.
